Three Star defeated in final

Nabil Three Star Club of Lalitpur on Wednesday were defeated in the final of the 59th Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament 2010 held in Guwahati, India.

Awani Limited, Dhaka, humiliated Three Star 3-0 in the Nehru Stadium which featured the final match between two teams from foreign countries after 1989.

Three Star conceded two goals in the first half and another goal in the other half. The winners and the runners up bagged a purse of IRs 100,000 and IRs 50,000 respectively. Kiran Chemjong of Three Star won the best goalkeeper award.

In the semifinal, Chejong had saved three penalties against Assam as the winner was decided in a tie breaker.

Heidfeld to return to F1 for Sauber

Nick Heidfeld is looking forward to "coming home" to replace Pedro de la Rosa in the Sauber team.

The 33-year-old previously drove for the team from 2001 to 2003 and, after BMW had taken over the Hinwil-based outfit, from 2006 to 2009.

But he was left without a race seat when the German manufacturer pulled out of the sport at the end of last year and he was named as test and reserve driver for the Mercedes team, before helping Pirelli test their new tyres as they prepare to become the sport's sole supplier from next year.

But he will now get the chance to add to his 167 grand prix starts after replacing 39-year-old De la Rosa.

The former Prost, Jordan and Williams driver, who has never won a race but has eight second-places to his name, said in a team statement: "I'm looking forward like crazy to having the opportunity to go racing again in a good car in Formula One from the Singapore Grand Prix onwards. After the last months I'm even more motivated than ever.

Heidfeld will test for Pirelli in Spain later this week before the commencement of his Sauber contract and the Italian manufacturer are known to be keen to continue to use him as a tester if possible

Italian joy for Alonso and Ferrari

Fernando Alonso gave Ferrari their first win on home soil for four years with an emotional victory in the Italian Grand Prix.Alonso has now closed the gap to 21 points on new championship leader Mark Webber who finished sixth, the Australian deposing McLaren's Lewis Hamilton after he crashed out on the opening lap.

Jenson Button, who led for the first 36 laps until ousted from top spot by Alonso in the pit stops, finished second, with Felipe Massa third in his Ferrari.

Red Bull conjured a magnificent strategy for Sebastian Vettel as he pitted at the end of the penultimate lap after having opened up a 22-second gap on fifth-placed Nico Rosberg in his Mercedes.

It was enough of an advantage for him to retain fourth spot, making amends in part of his indiscretions in the last two grands prix in Hungary and Belgium.

It means with five races of an enthralling season remaining, just 24 points - a race victory these days - separate the top five.

Murray knocked out of US Open

Andy Murray's bid for a first Grand Slam title came to an end after being knocked out by Stanislas Wawrinka.

Murray took the opening set in a tie-break but Wawrinka hit back to complete a 6-7 (3/7) 7-6 (7/4) 6-3 6-3 victory in three hours and 56 minutes.

The match featured 13 breaks of serve and almost as many breaks in play for medical treatment to both players before Wawrinka booked his place in the fourth round.

Murray had a 5-3 career record against Wawrinka coming into the match, including a memorable five-set victory at Wimbledon last year in the first full match to be played under the Centre Court roof.

And the fourth seed also beat the world number 27 in straight sets at Flushing Meadows in 2008, the Scot winning 6-1 6-3 6-3 on his way to the final.

Asian Games participation uncertain

Nepal´s participation in the 16th Asian Games appears uncertain as the nation is facing delay in announcement of full-fledged budget for the current fiscal year. Finance Minister Surendra Pandey clarified that Nepal could not participate in the games if the present delay in budget continued.

"If the full-fledged budget doesn´t come before the Games, the Ministry of Finance can´t release even a single penny for the event. In that situation, Nepal will not participate in the Games," said Pandey, during a program organized by Radio Dhading 106 MHz in Kathmandu on Saturday to mark the fourth year of its transmission.

According to NSC Member-secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary, the delay in the budget is hitting even players´ training. "The Ministry of Finance has released around Rs 4.5 million for the Asian Games. It is inadequate, and we are expecting the full-fledged budget before the games begin," said Chaudhary.

The Asian Games is scheduled to be held from November 12 to 27 in Guangzhou, China. NSC has declared to participate in 15 different sports for which around 100 players have been selected. Among the 15 sports, Cricket Association of Nepal is planning to send its men´s and women´s teams to Guangzhou in its own expense.

Austin F1 track layout unveiled

Tavo Hellmund, the managing partner of promoters Full Throttle Productions, made his comments after unveiling the layout of his circuit for the first time

The city of Austin in Texas is due to host the USGP in 2012 after signing a 10-year deal in May, with a purpose-built facility to be constructed close to the city's airport.

After consulting with track designer Hermann Tilke, the Austin venue has finally come to light, with the anti-clockwise 3.4-mile circuit planned to incorporate 20 turns.

According to Hellmund some sections will be familiar to drivers and fans.

There is sweep of bends at turns three, four, five and six similar to the Maggotts-Becketts complex at Silverstone.

Turns 12, 13, 14 and 15 are reminiscent of the stadium complex at Germany's Hockenheimring, while turns 16, 17 and 18 are a triple apex right-hander akin to Istanbul's renowned turn eight.

"It should be nice. I think drivers and fans should really like it," Hellmund told Austin newspaper American-Statesman.

Crucially for Formula One there are four overtaking spots, notably the uphill turn one which Hellmund feels will be the circuit's signature corner.

"Everybody will pull out and probably go three-wide into that braking turn," added Hellmund.

It will also likely be the highest point of a track that further boasts a 1200-metre straight, will have top speeds of around 200mph and be able to hold up to 130,000-140,000 fans.

It is hoped construction will start in December, although Hellmund is reluctant to mention a timescale as yet.

"I don't want to put a date on it. Everybody is hustling and bustling," said Hellmund.

Rossi plays down title hopes

The 31-year-old steered his Fiat Yamaha to victory at Misano in both of the last two years on his way to the title but is still recovering from the broken leg he suffered in June.

He managed a fourth-placed finish at Indianapolis just last Sunday but believes another win in front of his adoring crowd will be tough to achieve.

He said: "In Indianapolis we made some progress with our race setting but the conditions made me realise that I'm still not 100% fit.

"It's hard going straight to Misano with no break but hopefully it will be a little bit cooler than Indy.

Of course it's my home race and it's near my house so it's always very special to race there, in front of all of my fans.

"I have won there the last two years but this year we come in slightly different circumstances. Still, we will be trying our hardest and I really hope I can give the fans a good show."

Rossi's team-mate and champion-in-waiting Jorge Lorenzo comes to Misano on the back of his worst finish of the season - but still holds a massive 68-point lead over the Repsol Honda of Dani Pedrosa in second place.

Clijsters cruises to 3rd round of the US open

Clijsters won her second round match against Australian Sally Peers 6-2, 6-1.

She has lost just eight games so far at Flushing Meadows but admitted there was plenty of room for improvement after dropping her serve twice against qualifier Peers.

The 27-year-old Belgian, who won the title 12 months ago in only her 14th match and third tournament since coming out of retirement, also managed to get just 51% of her first serves in and committed 21 unforced errors.

"I just had to find my footing again a little bit," said Clijsters, who is seeded second this year behind Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki, the player she beat in last year's final.

She further added "I felt as the match went on I got to read her game a bit better and moved a bit better, but I still have a little further to go before I play my best tennis."

Tennis is a sport usually played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a racquet that is strung to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court.

The modern game of tennis originated in the United Kingdom in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis" which has heavy connections to various field/lawn games as well as to the ancient game of real tennis. After its creation, tennis spread throughout the upper-class English-speaking population before spreading around the world.[1] Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs.

The rules of tennis have not changed much since the 1890s. Two exceptions are that from 1908 to 1960 the server had to keep one foot on the ground at all times, and then the adoption of the tie-break in the 1970s. A recent addition to professional tennis has been the adoption of electronic review technology coupled with a point challenge system, which allows a player to challenge the line (or chair) umpire's call of a point. Players have unlimited opportunity to challenge, but once three incorrect challenges are made in a set, they cannot challenge again until the next set. If the set goes to a tie break, players are given one additional opportunity to challenge the call. This electronic review, currently called Hawk-Eye, is available at a limited number of high-level tournaments.

Chelsea VS Wigan

This game was one of the game week 2 fixture of the new season of English Premier league(2010/11).Chelsea went into this match full of confidence after their huge victory over new promoted West Brom (6-0), where as on the other side Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was under pressure even at the start of the season after their huge loss against the another newly promoted side Blackpool (4-0). With the home advantage it was believed that Wigan would provide a greater challenge to the defending champion.

The game took place on 21st of August at 6 pm local time. The match was played at the Wigan's home ground the DW stadium. At the beginning Wigan was able to provide good challenge to Chelsea with lots of good moves and counter attacks.The first goal of the game was scored by F. Malouda on 33'. It was a good run in by Moulda after the initial attempt by F. Lampard was saved by the keeper. The first half of the game ended 0-1.

The second was the total demolition of Wigan. They were not able to show the heroics like in the first half and was severely punished. The second goal was scored just 3 mins into the second half. A good score by Anelka after the good through ball by Mikel. It was soon followed by Chelsea's third goal. Once again the scorer was Anelka, after he headed the ball into Wigan net after utilizing the pass from Drogba. Just 6 mins second half and two goal was scored and the score line was 0-3 in just 51'. The other 3 goals was scored by the substitute. Two of them was scored by Kalou and the other by Benayoun.

Cricket is a bat and ball team sport. A game (or match) is contested between two teams of eleven players each. One team bats, and will try to score as many runs as possible while the other team bowls and fields, trying to dismiss the batsmen and thus limit the runs scored by the batting team. There are also variations in the length of a game of cricket. Football is played in the pitch. he length of the pitch for international adult matches is in the range of 100–110 m (110–120 yd) and the width is in the range of 64–75 m (70–80 yd). Fields for non-international matches may be 91–120 m (100–130 yd) length and 45–91 m (50–101 yd) in width, provided that the pitch does not become square. In 2008, the IFAB set a fixed size of 105 m long and 68 m wide as a standard pitch dimension for A international matches
